Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Web Developer with expertise in WordPress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in web development, with a focus on creating and maintaining WordPress websites that are visually appealing, functional, and user-friendly. As a WordPress Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimise websites that meet client needs and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- WordPress Development: Build and customise WordPress websites, themes, and plugins to achieve desired functionality and design. Ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end elements.
- Website Design: Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to translate design concepts into fully functional websites, ensuring a responsive and visually appealing user experience.
- Front-End Development: Develop and implement user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies. Ensure websites are optimised for performance and accessibility.
- Back-End Development: Implement custom features and functionalities using PHP and WordPress APIs. Customise existing plugins and develop custom solutions as needed.
- Content Management: Manage and update website content, including text, images, videos, and multimedia elements, using WordPress content management system.
- Website Optimisation: Conduct regular performance audits and optimisations to improve website speed, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and compatibility problems to ensure websites function seamlessly across different browsers and devices.
- Security and Maintenance: Implement security best practices to safeguard websites against potential vulnerabilities. Perform routine updates, backups, and maintenance tasks to ensure site integrity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality websites that meet client specifications and project timelines.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and address feedback throughout the development process.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Web Developer with minimum 2 years of service, and a strong focus on WordPress development.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other relevant web technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of WordPress architecture, themes, plugins, and customisation.
- Experience with responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and website optimisation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Portfolio showcasing WordPress projects and technical capabilities.
