Project Manager  

The role of a Project Manager at Geekseat is managing your team by reporting and maintaining project timelines, minimising external disturbances for developers, and managing impediments within the project, company and externally. Focused on delivering value, you will work alongside your Development Team to ensure the process delivers high quality software to our customers, that solves problems in their business or for their users, meeting our clients expectations. 

Work with customers, Product Owners and manage team members to ensure: 

  • Client 
    • Client expectations are understood and clearly documented.  
    • Client deliverables and deadlines are adhered to.  
    • Regularly update the customer on iteration progress throughout the project 
    • Communicate project timelines and delays to the customer as they arise throughout Develop 
    • Update projected timelines and consumed allowances at the end of each iteration 
    • Regularly update the Growth/Account Manager on active project progress and recent events. 
    • Focus on client satisfaction and liaise with external contractors and suppliers 
    • Deliver high-quality and timely feedback to customer issues 
  • Project 
    • Project work is accurately estimated in time, resources, and nature of delivery.  
    • Appropriate team members are engaged and utilized.  
    • Appropriate methodology, infrastructure, architecture, and design is selected.  
    • Maintain the product backlog alongside the Product Owner by ensuring tickets are kept up to date to reflect current documentation and priority 
    • Client and management approval is obtained for any new development or change in delivery specifications.  
    • Ensure releases are created and correctly linked to completed tickets. 
    • A documented cost-benefit analysis of all proposals and alternatives is provided.  
    • Projects are delivered within budget.  
  • Team 
    • Team leaders and team members are appropriately supported to ensure that they have the appropriate information, skills, and resources to complete the tasks assigned to them 
    • Team members are managed to ensure delivery.  
    • Staff timesheets for weekly delivery targets are approved and signed off by the client in a timely fashion.  
    • Adequate support for the onboarding of new team members on projects.  
    • Staff leave is approved with consideration for project requirements and deadlines.  
    • Hold regular meetings with each team member to train, deliver feedback and outline improvement areas. 
    • Individual performance progress reports for all your team members are regularly submitted to management 
    • Team leaders and team members receive the necessary mentoring for their professional development   
    • Document process improvements and changes back into the Way of Working 
    • Conduct Way of Working workshops and training both internally and externally. 
  • Reporting 
    • Ongoing progress reports are provided to clients (and management), including progress compared to scheduled delivery for time, deliverables, and resource utilization.  
    • Daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports are received from all members of your team.  
    • Reports are given to management on the progress of projects within an agreed timeline.  
    • Effective cost management and assistance in facilitating this   
    • Keep the project risk register up to date and front of mind for the team and customer 
    • Complete all reports and project documentation in line with expected intervals 

Requirements: 

  • Solid educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or IT 
  • Strong technical background, around 7+ years of experience in IT engineering  
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Project Manager and at least 3 years as a Software Developer 
  • Experience of managing hybrid teams across various locations (office, WFH, timezones) 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Fluent in English)  
  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills  
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies  
  • Scrum/PMP/ PRINCE II certification is a plus
